Foxtail Millet, locally famous as "Kangu Rice". It’s a traditional food of the Koraput tribals with high nutritional value. It is one of the oldest cultivated cereal grain and the most economically important food for local tribal of Koraput Dist. The grain can be cooked in the same manner as rice and has many food applications (porridge, pudding, breads, cakes, flour, chips, rolls, noodles, etc.). It is rich in dietary fibre, protein, healthy micros (vitamin and minerals) and low in fat. People who are suffering from diabetes generally used it as a special diet to control sugar level.
